World Economic Forum DoViews

Quick Overview

The World Economic Forum (WEF) holds an annual forum in Davos. For the meeting, they release a Global Risk Report. The idea is that people will read the report, discuss it and then that they will introduce into their forward strategies ways to manage the risks that have been identified in the report and they consider important.

Despite all the work put into such reports, not many people have time to read them through. In addition, the translation of the analysis in such reports into actual concrete strategic action is hit and miss.

DoView Planning introduces a new, more disciplined and efficient way of making the transition to action.

Below are three DoView strategy diagrams that have been created from the WEF Global Risk Report 2026. One for governments, corporates and civil society. Each translates the risk information in the report into a set of concrete risk management actions that governments, corporates and civil society can act on.

The idea is for you to download the DoView strategy diagram that is relevant to your organization. You then go through it and identify which boxes you are already doing containing actions to manage the particular risk. If you think that there are priority boxes that you are currently not acting on, you can build them into your strategic planning.

If you are already using DoView Planning, it is simply a matter of putting new boxes into your DoView or amending ones that are already there.

Proof of concept

This is a proof of concept for taking any type of report where the authors are hoping people will take action as a result of reading and translating the recommended action into a DoView strategy diagram that you make available with the report. Anyone can create a DoView diagram of any report or for any strategy or initiative. This then could be made available for download by anyone who is reading the report so that they can immediately move to translating it into action in their strategic planning context.
