WHAT
DoView Boards can be used in two ways within research.
Building a DoView Board for a whole research domain.
Building a DoView Board for planning, implementing, and reporting on a particular research project in the same way that you would use one for any initiative. (For information on this second type of use, see towards the bottom of the page).
DoView Boards answer the 20 key questions that need to be answered for anyone running, overseeing or wanting to understand any initiative, including a research project of any sort.
DoView Boards provide a fully integrated single-source-of-truth planning tool that integrates planning, priority setting, alignment of projects/activities to outcomes, delegation/contracting, measurement, impact evaluation, improvement, and reporting.

RESEARCH DOMAIN MODELING
A DoView Board can be used to model any type of research domain. They are able to:
visualize in a user-friendly way the hypothesized causal logic that has already been discovered about the processes that are being researched in the domain.
show the evidence currently justifying the links between steps in the causal logic within the domain.
Traffic light the quality of evidence supporting hypothesized links between steps in the causal logic in the domain.
Show the research projects/activities that could contribute towards improving gaps in knowledge about the validity of hypothesized links between steps in the causal logic.
Prioritize which research projects should be undertaken next in order to fill in the most important knowledge gaps.
Draft Research Domain DoView Boards are built with a free AI prompt, they can then be edited by hand, for instance, to develop a consensus on research priorities from a research domain researcher and stakeholder workshop.
DoView Boards are an open source project, and they can be built into any other app, platform or system just with acknowledgment.
